My friend Jackie over at the Lactose Free Ladies recently came back from Germany with a little present for me: some Haribo straight from the motherland. Now anyone who has been to Europe knows that Haribo over there exists in a way few of us in the States are able to achieve. In most markets and stores, there are numerous flavors and choices. A dream.

Here stores carry one or two flavors, maybe 4, with common ones being Gold Bears, Happy Cola, Frogs, and a few other options. Over there, the selection is almost endless. For me, a die-hard fan of Fizzy Cola, the ability to purchase many flavors, including ones hard to find here in America, makes Germany an ideal trip just for the gummi candy alone. My friend and I went over to Germany for Octoberfest in 2010 and came back with suitcases that weighed 20 lbs heavier just in Haribo. Mind you, while I can't quite say if these taste incredibly different than ones here in America, I can say its a joy to eat a product straight from the country of origin. Prost!
